Tax Rates
Cloud POS receives tax rate information directly from the V-SDC (Virtual Secure Digital Controller) and uses these rates exclusively. You cannot manually enter or override tax rates — they are always provided by the tax authority through the SDC.
How Tax Rates Work
When you select a certificate (POS) on the Create Invoice page, Cloud POS connects to the V-SDC and retrieves the current tax configuration. This includes:
Tax category labels — Single-letter identifiers (e.g., A, B, E, F, P)
Tax category names — Descriptive names for each category (e.g., VAT, Exempt, Tourism)
Tax rates — The percentage for each category (e.g., A = 15%, E = 9%, F = 0%)
These are the only tax rates available when creating an invoice.
Tax Labels on Invoices
Each item on an invoice must be assigned a tax category. The tax label is displayed:
When adding items — A dropdown shows all available tax categories with their label letter and rate percentage
On item cards — Tax category chips appear on each item showing the label and name
On the fiscal receipt — Each item shows its tax label, and a summary of all tax categories, rates, and tax amounts appears in the totals section
For example, an invoice might show:
Label | Tax Name | Rate |
|---|---|---|
A | VAT | 15% |
E | Reduced | 9% |
F | Exempt | 0% |
Tax Calculation and Rounding
Tax amounts are calculated by the V-SDC during fiscalization, not by the POS
The V-SDC returns the tax breakdown as part of the invoice result
Tax values are rounded to a minimum of two decimal places
Rounding follows standard rules: round down if less than 5, round up if 5 or greater
The POS displays the tax breakdown exactly as returned by the V-SDC. It never modifies, recalculates, or overrides any tax information received from the SDC.
Viewing Current Tax Rates
Tax rates are displayed when you select a certificate on the Create Invoice page. The available tax categories appear in the tax label dropdown when adding items.
You can also check the current tax rates by viewing the SDC status for a specific certificate — this shows all active tax categories, their labels, and rates.
Important Rules
Cloud POS never uses any tax rates other than those received from the V-SDC
If the tax authority changes rates, the updated rates are automatically reflected the next time you connect to the V-SDC
Cloud POS supports enough tax category labels to accommodate current and future market needs
Tax labels use single-character identifiers (A through Z), providing capacity for up to 26 distinct tax categories
